Initial Game Content for Global Warfighter League

We’ll be loading up the website with initial content for Global Warfighter League. At this point, the games we’ll be supporting here at the website are a direct reflection of the previous games we had supported for competition here at our league.

Supported Games?

The initial game list supported at GWL will include the latest iteration or edition of the games that we’ve had here in in the past. This includes Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Combat Arms Redux, Crysis, Star Wars Battlefront Classics 1 & 2, Tribes 3, Super Smash Bros., ARMA 3, Counter Strike 2.

It’s important to note that these games are an initial setup for our website and are not games that we are committed to for GWL official competition. We will be posting news about these initial games as well as other popular competitive games such as PUBG, Apex Legends, Hell Divers 2, StarCraft 2 and more. News will be posted for these games but standard maintenance updates to the games most likely won’t be posted unless someone from the community posts news of these updates in the forums themselves.

Competition?

As mentioned, news about a particular game being posted here isn’t necessarily an indication that the game is being supported for competition. Mainly because we’re unsure what competition will look like here at GWL. Competition will not look as it did before and will likely be a combination of platforms, sponsors, and communities that join us.

In the past, Global Warfighter League supported games for competition if there were community admins that were willing to put in the time and effort to keep appraised of the game and game updates. This usually came along with developing ladders, tournaments, and seasonal leagues for their respective communities here at GWL. Gaming communities would set their own rules for their own competition, GWL would set competition standards globally across all games (ie: Anti-cheat requirements, player verification, etc. ).

At the time, this format was largely based on our ladders, our tournaments, and our seasonal leagues. Not to mention private events for private groups who wanted their own competitive leaderboards that weren’t publicly viewable. Today, many games have their own leaderboards, their own player verification, along with their own competitive maps and mods(ie: StarCraft 2). When Global Warfighter League started, it was only third party websites that kept track of these leaderboards for games and their communities.

A place for Global Warfighter League Today

Given today’s environment for  communities, we believe Global Warfighter League can still fill a roll for today’s competitive gaming communities. The format will be different but the initial goal here at GWL will remain the same. We plan to provide the tools and organization that today’s gamers need to empower themselves, their partners (co-op), their teams, and their communities for a competitive environment.

There are some ideas in the pipeline here that will bring us closer to that end. We invite you to join us in our journey.

Thank you for your interest and patronage,
