Get ready to blast off into a new dimension of battle royale action as Respawn Entertainment reveals details for the upcoming “Space Hunt” limited-time event coming to Apex Legends this August.

Release Date: August 6-20, 2024

New Game Mode: Stellar Showdown

The centerpiece of the Space Hunt event is the all-new “Stellar Showdown” limited-time mode that takes the battle to the stars. Players will drop onto a modified version of Olympus that’s been transformed with low-gravity zones, allowing for extended jumps and aerial combat opportunities never before seen in Apex Legends.

These low-gravity zones will be marked by shimmering blue force fields and will primarily be located around key points of interest. Strategic positioning will be crucial as players need to adapt to the altered physics while still maintaining accuracy in firefights.

Space-Themed Collection Event

As with previous collection events, Space Hunt will introduce 24 limited-time cosmetics with a celestial theme. Collecting all items will unlock the new Prestige skin for Horizon, aptly named “Stellar Navigator,” which features three evolving tiers that progress as you rack up damage during matches.

Highlighted Legendary Skins:

  • Cosmic Wanderer Pathfinder: A sleek astronaut-themed look with a reflective helmet visorMyGWL.com - Apex Store 2
  • Nebula Wraith: Features swirling galaxy patterns that flow across her tactical suit
  • Solar Flare Fuse: Equipped with armor that glows with the intensity of a star
  • Lunar Eclipse Bloodhound: Adorned with moon phase symbols and a helmet resembling an observatory dome

Balance Changes & Map Updates

The Space Hunt event will also introduce a series of balance adjustments aimed at refining the current meta:

  • Olympus Revamp: In addition to the low-gravity zones, Olympus will feature several new points of interest including the “Observatory,” “Stellar Labs,” and “Antimatter Processing.”
  • Weapon Rebalancing: The Nemesis Burst AR will receive a slight damage nerf, while the Charge Rifle gets adjustments to its beam duration.
  • Legend Updates: Minor tweaks to several legends including Horizon (appropriately for the space theme), with her tactical receiving extended air control.
