      Hey Warfighters,

As part of the first phase of rebuilding Global Warfighter League as an esports hub, we are opening the Solo Competition Ladders for creation by warfighters.

This is our Phase 1 approach because solo ladders give us the cleanest foundation to build from. Before we expand deeper into team ladders, tournaments, leagues, events, and larger competitive systems, we need a strong base where individual Warfighters can create, join, test, and compete in smaller structured competitions.

The goal is simple: let members create their own competitive spaces, run their own solo ladders, and help us test the new esports system in a real-world environment.

Any registered Warfighter can now create a solo competition directly from their profile. Go to your ‘Profile’, open the ‘Esports’ tab, and then use the ‘Create’ sub-tab. From there, you can create a new solo competition for a game already listed in the system or enter your own custom game name.

Each solo competition creates its own leaderboard. This gives players a dedicated place to compete, track rankings, and build activity around a specific game or rule set of their own creation.

Competition creators can choose whether their ladder is public or private. Public competitions are open for members to find and join. Private competitions can be set to ‘Request to Join’ or ‘Invite Only’, giving creators more control over who participates.

Once a competition is created, it will appear in player profiles under the ‘Esports’ tab through the Join sub-tab, and competitions may also be found through the Enlist page. Each competition has its own public-facing page where members can view details, check the join status, and see whether the ladder is open, private, or invite based.

Competition creators also have access to a ‘Settings’ area where they can manage the structure of their competition. This includes listing images, promotional images, core settings, Elo options, rules of engagement, maps, and other competition details. The idea is to give creators enough flexibility to shape their ladder while still keeping the system organized under the GWL platform.

To support this, we have started building out the GWL Operations Manual, including the GWL Competition Creator’s Guide.

The Competition Creator’s Guide is meant to help members understand how to set up and manage their own competitions. It explains the purpose of the settings, how competition creation works, and how users should think about building a ladder that other Warfighters can actually understand and join.

Like the rest of GWL right now, the Operations Manual and Competition Creator’s Guide are still a work in progress. As features are added, tested, adjusted, or renamed, the guide will continue to be updated. This is part of the beta process. The system and the documentation are being built together.

      A starting Point

Phase 1 is not meant to be the final version of GWL esports. It is the starting point.

Solo ladders allow us to test the core pieces we need before moving into larger systems. That includes competition creation, joining, rankings, Elo behavior, match flow, rules, user permissions, privacy settings, profile integration, and how all of this performs under real user activity.

In other words, solo competitions are the proving ground.

We need Warfighters to create ladders, join ladders, test settings, report bugs, suggest improvements, and help us see where the system works and where it needs more polish. The more activity we get during Phase 1, the better the next phases will be.

Future phases will build on this foundation. Team-based competition, larger events, tournaments, leagues, and more advanced matchmaking systems all depend on getting this first layer right.

So if you want to help move GWL forward, this is a good place to start:

This is how we move from restored legacy history into a working modern esports platform.

Phase 1 is live. Solo ladders are the foundation. Now we need Warfighters using and testing them.

      Cheers!
